No doubt nobody prefers war. It brings death, destruction, disease and starvation, poverty and ruin its wake. This makes neglections of human qualities and moral values. Nations’ friendly attitude vanish and become enemies.
Enemies do not be get friends. They create other enemies. This makes the inner hatred to grow more rapidly. Hatred burns a man’s soul and makes him inhuman. Such a man finds no alternative ahead of him other than war.
Peace is a need of the hour, without it there will be severe economic hardship and mental trauma. When there is peace people can live in harmony.
But there are people who consider war as something grand and heroic and regard it as something that brings out the best in men. Their poor vision cannot identify that the war is a terrible and dreadful calamity. Some people say war is necessary. According to their view it’s futile to talk of permanent and everlasting peace or to make plans for the establishment of eternal peace.
We have had the Buddha. Christ and Mahathma Gandhi, who always spoke of peace and harmony among nations. But inspite of that, weapons have always been used, military force has always been employed and clashes of arms have always occurred.
But we must strive hard to achieve lasting peace in our world to make it a resplendent place for all the nations to live happily.
